1967

In 1967, The Beatles had a highly creative and experimental year both musically and personally. They released two groundbreaking albums “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” (1 Jun) – considered one of the greatest and most influential albums in the history of popular music, and “Magical Mystery Tour” (8 Dec).

1967 was a year of sartorial experimentation for The Beatles. Their individual styles were influenced by the growing counterculture and psychedelic movement.

Some obvious highlights include The Sgt Pepper suits (and hats), the Penny Lane red coats, the Strawberry Fields video and jackets made from William Morris fabric.
